This week’s outfits come to you courtesy of Finesse by Bruno Mars and Cardi B. There’s not really any reason for this other than I am obsessed with the song and I have been listening to it on repeat for the last several days. The beginning of the song reminds me of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air opening, which is just the greatest throwback ever and Bruno and Cardi are dressed straight out of the 80’s on the single cover. It’s totally checking all the boxes for me in my life right now!
Lately, I have been gravitating towards adding interest to my outfits with layering textures and colors, but keeping my color palette pretty neutral. We have had uncharacteristically cold weather in Texas this winter, so I have been trying a lot of new looks with my heavier outerwear because I am always cold! Other than my look on Friday, all of the outfits this week have the ability to be dressed up or down depending upon what footwear and accessories you choose. If you are a person who works in an office, the three middle looks can all be worn with black pants to make them work appropriate. I hope you are inspired to try some of these combinations and that they make you feel amazing!

I have had all of the pieces of this outfit for over a year, but I had never put them together before I was planning for this shoot. I ended up loving it so much that I wore it for date night with the hubs the next day! Since the pink coat is fluffy, wearing streamlined layers like a turtleneck and skinny jeans will keep the outfit looking sleek and not bulky. My pink coat is from last year, but I have linked several others that would give a similar look for this outfit. These Madewell jeans have become my new go-to because the fit is so good and the “Magic Pockets” in the front conceal all of my carb-loading mistakes😜 I’m still dreaming of owning a Gucci belt, but while I am working on convincing the hubs, this black and gold belt has been doing the trick. I have also linked some AMAZING affordable options for my Gucci bag that I absolutely love.
Where to Wear:
Live theater, Date Night, Pop Concert, Girl’s night out, Shopping, Lunch with friends

This outfit would also look great with over the knee boots, either flat or heeled.

This outfit is one of my favorites on days when I just don’t know what to wear or when I am in a hurry and need something easy and quick to throw on. There is nothing quite as forgiving as a pair of black jeans and keeping the look monochromatic black makes it chic and sophisticated. I bought this snakeskin tank at Express several years ago, and it continues to make appearances in my wardrobe on a regular basis. I did not find an exact match for my snakeskin print, but I did find a couple of other black and white printed tanks that I really love and I linked them for you below. If you want to keep the animal print theme going, you could use a leopard print tank under the sweater as well.
Where to Wear:
Running Errands, Volunteering at school, Work meeting, Lunch with friends, Meeting with teacher, Shopping, Movie theater, Birthday party
Make it Unique:
Any black and white printed tank will work with this look, or add in a little color if you prefer! Take this look from day to night by switching out my cardigan for a leather jacket!

This camel coat is a new addition to my closet this year and the quality of the wool fabric is fantastic with an equally amazing price point. It’s a great addition to any woman’s closet because it is a classic cut, color and fabric that can be worn for years without going out of style. For this look, I wanted to keep all of the elements simple and classic so that someone could recreate it next week or next year and still be relevant. I bought this white sweater last season, but I have found it to be such a versatile piece in my closet. Having a simple layering sweater in black and white will enable you to make endless combinations with your sweaters and jackets. Finishing the look with a pair of leopard shoes adds the perfect pop of pattern and texture!
Where to Wear:
Shopping, Work meeting, Lunch with friend, Date Night, Girl’s night out, Friend’s birthday party

Make this look work appropriate by switching out my jeans for a pair of black pants and a white button down. Leopard ballet flats are perfect for a more casual look!

I have been loving chunky sweaters this winter (probably because I am chronically cold!) and this one from Express is so cute and affordable! Layering a leather jacket with cool hardware over a sweater instantly makes it look polished and gives the outfit an extra bit of visual interest. Gold hardware is having a major moment right now, so I linked two of my favorite leather jackets that feature gold details. I love the simplicity of a black and white color palette because it is classic, timeless and can be worn by women of any age and size. This is an outfit that you can wear this winter and put on repeat for the next 10 years! A pair of black mules are the perfect way to mix comfort with style and they are available in so many different styles and at such affordable price points. I have linked a couple of my favorite pairs for you to shop!
Where to Wear:
Running Errands, Volunteering at school, Work meeting, Lunch with friends, Meeting with teacher, Shopping, Movie theater, Birthday party
Make it Unique:
For a lighter layered look, try a sleeveless sweater under your leather jacket. You could also switch out my flats for a pair of heels to take you straight from work to happy hour!
Friday
Dress: Yumi Kim | Shoes: Similar | Bag: Similar | Earrings: Baublebar
Feel Like a Million Bucks:
Yumi Kim never fails to wow me with her floral prints, but this one may be one of my all-time favorites! The dark background and long sleeves make it a perfect choice for winter special occasions and it layers beautifully under a faux fur jacket. I love the midi length because my default winter skin color is Casper white and I need a little extra leg coverage! If you haven’t ever tried on a Yumi Kim dress, let me assure you, the fit is impeccable and the silhouettes are always so flattering. These are the perfect additions to your closet to keep on hand for winter weddings and baby showers. My shoes are several years old, but I love them because the strap ensures they stay on my feet without slipping when I walk. I have linked two similar pairs that are really beautiful as well!
Where to Wear:
Date Night, Girl’s night out, Winter wedding, Live theater
