My posting schedule is thrown off this week because the flu epidemic has officially hit our household and it has taken up most of the past two days! My son came home from school sick on Monday and spiked a very high fever that landed us in the ER for most of the day😟 After getting the fever under control, we started him on Tamiflu which subsequently caused him to be violently ill with vomiting and nausea for an entire day. Sooo, we stopped the Tamiflu yesterday afternoon and he seems to be on the mend this morning! Fingers crossed!!
I decided to title my outfits this week after Elton John’s I’m Still Standing. After nursing first the hubs through the flu and now the baby of the house, I am feeling pretty happy about the fact that I haven’t succumbed to the illness and that I clearly have an immune system of steel! Trying to remain productive with the distraction of everyone being sick, trips to the doctor, and cleaning the house to prevent anyone else from getting sick has been a challenge, but I thrive on pressure. Wishing you a healthy and productive week!

This outfit has been my weekend uniform lately. Between wrestling tournaments, running errands, and grocery store trips, I have needed comfortable but cute clothes to get me through the long days! You can never go wrong with a classic combination of a striped tee and a green utility jacket. This is one of those outfits that you can reach for on days when you are pressed for time but still want to look chic and pulled together. I LOVE these black Nike sneakers because they are super comfortable without the bulk that comes with a traditional running sneaker. These look great with jeans and black just goes with everything in my opinion!
Where to Wear:
Running Errands, Volunteering at school, Lunch with friends, Meeting with teacher, Shopping, Kid’s sports, Movie theater
Make it Unique:
If you need to make this outfit a bit more dressy, switch the sneakers for a pair of black ballet flats or mules or add a pair of leopard flats for a fun contrast to the striped shirt. In the winter, switch out my utility jacket for a green puffer coat for added warmth!

I found this cardigan on sale after Christmas at Banana Republic and it is sold out, but I have linked several other cardigans and coats, both with and without fur trim. I have been combining black and camel a lot this season and I love that a pair of leopard print shoes just ties the combination together perfectly! If you don’t already own a pair of leopard print shoes, do it now! With a pair of leopard shoes, you can combine any neutral clothing in your closet for an instantly chic look. Black leather jacket and white tee, black cami and white cardigan, white sweater and black pants, burgundy sweater and jeans….these all look great with a punch of leopard in your shoes!!!
Where to Wear:
Running Errands, Volunteering at school, Work meeting, Lunch with friends, Meeting with teacher, Shopping, Thanksgiving meal, Birthday party, Movie theater
Make it Unique:
You could switch out my leopard flats for a pair of heels to make this look a bit dressier. You can also wear a white tee under the cardigan for a casual, easy look. A pair of black jeans would also be a great choice to make an entirely new outfit with the same pieces!

I wear white jeans sparingly in my everyday life because motherhood and white jeans don’t always mix well! (My white sheets are in the washing machine for the second time in 12 hours because the sick child has spilled red Gatorade on them twice!🙄) But, they are a nice change for special occasions and they always add such a feminine quality to any outfit. White jeans can be tricky to wear, because they are less forgiving than their black counterparts. I have found that it is important to invest in a pair that is a thick denim and not too tight! I love a delicate pink blouse and a pair of pink flats with white jeans for the perfect baby shower or wedding shower outfit. This look can transition quite nicely from winter into spring, making it super versatile.
Where to Wear:
Work meeting, Lunch with friends, Meeting with teacher, Date Night, Girl’s night out, Shopping, Pop Concert, Baby Shower, Wedding Shower, Birthday party, Live theater
Make it Unique:
For a perfect winter look, layer a camel wool coat over this outfit. Also try a pair of tan wedges for a fresh spring look.

I LOVE this outfit because it has visual interest with the pairing of stripes and leopard, but it is still firmly in the classic outfit category with a trench coat and timeless pieces. Women of all ages and sizes can wear this and look fantastic and age-appropriate. If you don’t already own a classic trench coat, I highly encourage you to make this the year to add it to your closet. It instantly adds a chic finish to any winter outfit and give you that fancy British vibe!

A pair of black jeans/pants would look fantastic with this look for a work appropriate alternative! You can also try a pair of leopard heels for a dressier look.

Dress: Yumi Kim | Jacket: Similar & Similar | Shoes: Steve Madden | Earrings: Baublebar | Bag: Similar & Similar
Feel Like a Million Bucks:
Dressy winter occasions can be tricky because most dresses are sleeveless and strappy, leaving a girl to freeze to death! This Yumi Kim dress is the perfect closet staple to keep on hand for winter parties, weddings, and showers. The dark floral ensures that it looks appropriate for winter wear and the long sleeves will keep you warm in cold temperatures. The fit of Yumi’s dresses is exceptional and they are so incredibly flattering. I added a white fur coat to contrast with the dark floral and a simple pair of strappy sandals to complete the look!
Where to Wear:
Date Night, Girl’s night out, Winter wedding, Live theater
Make it Unique:
For an even warmer outfit, switch out my sandals for a pair of black booties with black tights. If the fur coat is too much for you, try a black leather jacket for a monochromatic look.
