In my experience, women fall into one of two categories when faced with an invitation to a party that requires dressy attire. The first group experiences unbridled excitement at the prospect of trying on a fancy dress that is not a part of the everyday wardrobe. The other group experiences pure terror at the thought of selecting a piece of clothing that is outside of their normal comfort zone. Which one are you? In the interest of full disclosure, I fall into the latter category, so this is an exciting post for me to write!
For the next three weeks I will be brining you holiday looks tailored to the personalities of the different types of women that read this blog. First up, the Girly Girl!

The Girly Girl is one that does not shy away from sequins, glitter, lace, embellishment, floral, and all things pink! You probably know immediately if this description sounds like you. Luckily, the holidays are a perfect time of year for a girly girl to truly express her feminine side with sparkly dresses and fur accessories. Here are a few of the details that you can look for when shopping for a girly holiday look and several different holiday outfit combinations for you to try!
Sequins
Sequin embellishment adds an undeniable sparkly and shine to any piece of clothing, making it a perfect addition to a holiday look. Sequins are not for the faint of heart, though. They are a guaranteed head-turner and are sure to garner compliments all night long! You can chose to fully bedazzled your garment in sequins or opt for a little pop on a pair of shoes.
Lace
Lace trim adds a delicate detail that instantly ups the classiness of any dress. The intricate patterns that are created within a piece of lace give visual interest to an otherwise simple piece of clothing. Try a little bit of lace at the bottom of a hemline or go all out with lace covering the entire dress.
Ruffles
Ruffles are a whimsical addition to any holiday party look and I love the fullness they add to a skirt. Pick your poison; ruffles can be small an understated on a simple sleeve, or they can be over-the-top gigantic covering an entire skirt!
